“Yudansha” is a Japanese phrase that roughly translates to, “one who holds a dan rank.” When a martial arts practitioner earns their first black belt, they earn their first dan. While some might say a practitioner with a dan grade has mastered their respective art, earning the first degree of black belt is only the beginning. Not only are there more dans to earn, but the pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement is one that never ends.
We believe that regardless of your belt or rank, every time you step on the mat is just another step in your journey. Regardless of the art you train, your goal, or your level of skill, committing oneself to an art, or multiple arts for that matter, requires a sacrifice of pride, energy, and an intense devotion to something greater than yourself. It is not for brittle spirits or faint hearts.
It is for those that dare to be great and are willing to put in the work to get there.
With that in mind, we craft products for those that wish to be better than they were the day before. And just as you trek onward day by day, our gear will be with you every step of the way.
